The guns had a 1:60" twist, with a shallow .003" to .005" depth, and were specifically built to take big powder charges.In the next few days I'll be out at the board. Going to test 80 grain 2f, 2 over powder cards, 1 & 1/4 oz 5 shot, lubed fiber wad. The second is the same but shot is in a paper shotcup. Third is the same as both but will vary powder down to 70 grain. Hoping for some good results.Jul 31, 2022. #2. The T/C PA Hunter is a good rifle. I have both the flint and percussion. I think the 450-550 price range is more like a value. However, the lock needs attention as the geometry of the original T/C can be improved for more reliable performance. The Pennsylvania Hunter has 6 more inches of barrel, so I expect it'll be a wee bit faster. The triggers on both of my rifles are really excellent.
